Operations Excellence Specialist

High Ground

About the role

High Ground is looking for an Operations Excellence Specialist to strengthen operational standards, consistency, and performance across all BARE and Four Winters branches.

You’ll own the operational improvement process, from identifying gaps and developing practical plans to tracking implementation and verifying results. This means making sure every agreed action has a clear owner, deadline, and measure of success, and following it through until the improvement is delivered and sustained.

Working alongside the Operations Manager, who leads daily operations and branch teams, you’ll turn findings into coordinated action. You’ll be responsible for keeping improvement plans moving, resolving implementation barriers with the relevant teams, and confirming that changes achieve their intended outcomes.

Responsibilities

Conduct regular branch visits and structured operational reviews across BARE and Four Winters.

Assess preparation, service, cleanliness, food handling, stock control, equipment care, and opening and closing procedures against agreed standards.

Check that approved recipes, portion sizes, product presentation, and service standards are consistently followed.

Observe preparation and service workflows to identify bottlenecks, inconsistencies, and avoidable waste.

Investigate recurring issues, identify their underlying causes, and develop practical solutions.

Own the development of operational improvement plans, prioritising actions by their impact on product quality, guest experience, efficiency, and cost.

Agree on action owners, deadlines, resources, and measurable outcomes with the Operations Manager and relevant departments.

Own the implementation tracker, keeping actions, progress, dependencies, and deadlines accurate and visible.

Proactively follow up with action owners to ensure agreed work is completed on time and to the required standard.

Identify implementation barriers early and work with the Operations Manager and relevant teams to resolve them.

Address missed deadlines with clear recovery plans and continued follow-up through to completion.

Coordinate changes to branch workflows with the Operations Manager to support effective execution.

Verify implementation through branch revisits, supporting evidence, and performance checks before closing actions.

Measure results against agreed targets and adjust improvement plans when changes are not delivering the intended outcome.

Conduct follow-up checks to confirm improvements are sustained and reopen actions when gaps recur.

Develop and refine SOPs, checklists, and assessment tools with the relevant departments.

Identify training needs, coordinate follow-through, and verify that training improves day-to-day performance.

Review operational indicators and guest feedback to identify trends and further improvement opportunities.

Maintain concise progress reports showing completed improvements, outstanding actions, barriers, and results.

Share effective practices across branches while respecting each brand’s requirements.

Qualifications

We’re looking for an experienced F&B professional who understands how strong branch operations should run and takes ownership of making improvements happen. You should be confident planning work, coordinating across teams, and following through until results are demonstrated.
